Before the Game

In this game you will mix 3 lbs. of water with 1 lb. of salt - what do you think will happen to the mixtures? What are the three types of matter? What happens when you put water in the freezer? What happens when you heat water on a stove?

After the Game

What happened to the ice when you put it into the heater and then cooled it again? Did the amount of each type of matter change when they were mixed together? What did you learn is the difference between a solution and a mixture? Was the matter destroyed when it was heated or cooled?
