Main Concepts

Graph paired measurements that may be associated with a scatter plot.

Look for a positive or negative trend in the cloud of points (Do the values trend up the vertical scale as they proceed to the right(positive) or vice versa).

A nonlinear pattern (Curved pattern).

Describe points that are far off he trending points as outliers.

If the points generally trend in a linear fashion (Trend in a straight line) they are said to have a linear association.
