Instructions

Play through this interactive game to learn about Express Tenths As Equivalent Hundredths. Suitable for Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5.

Main Concepts

Fractions with a denominator of 10 or 100 are called decimal fractions.
Convert fractions with a denominator of 10 to a fraction with a denominator of 100 by multiplying by 10/10 to add two fractions with denominators of 10 or 100.
Understanding of decimal fractions is often expressed as monetary 4/10 can be modeled with 4 dimes.
When adding two decimal fractions you must first convert to the same denominator ( 4/10 + 31/100 = 4/10 x 10/10 + 31/100 = 40/100 + 31/100 = 71/100).
