Discussion Questions

Before the Game

How is multiplication related to addition? How is addition related to subtraction? If you had 3 boxes of fruit, and each box had 2 pieces of fruit in it, what would be the total amount of fruit in all of the boxes? If you had 10 bananas and 12 oranges, how many more oranges would you have than bananas

After the Game

Create a simple visual graph that looks like the shipping floor from the game for the following amounts of boxes: 3 boxes of apples, 2 boxes of bananas, 4 boxes of oranges. Each of these boxes has 3 fruits inside of it. Write down the total amount of fruit under each kind of fruit in your graph. How many more oranges are there than apples? If each box has 3 fruits inside of it, and you had to complete an order that totaled 9 individual apples (not boxes), 12 bananas, and 3 oranges, how many boxes would you need for each kind of fruit?
