Instructions

Play through this interactive game to learn about Compare Two Multi-Digit Whole Numbers. Suitable for Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5.

Main Concepts

In the base 10 system, the value of each place is 10 times the value of the place to the immediate right.
Show comparisons using >, < and = where > is used to denote the value on the left is greater and < to show the value on the right is greater.
To read numerals between 1,000 and 1,000,000 each sequence of three digits made by commas is read as hundreds, tens, ones followed by the name of the appropriate base-thousand unit (thousand, million, billion, etc.) ex. 365,000 is read as “three hundred sixty five thousand).
Compare two numbers by closely looking at place value, (Which number is greater 3,245 or 3,425? 3,425 because the digit in the thousands place is the same but the number in the hundreds place is greater).
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers in word form and standard form.
